Shri Venkateshwara University welcomed renowned hematologist Dr Suresh Hanagavadi
Shri Venkateshwara University warmly welcomed Dr Suresh Hanagavadi, a renowned doctor and chairperson of the Karnataka Hemophilia Society.
Dr Hanagavadi gave a lecture on–Role of Factor Replacement Therapy in the Treatment of Hemophilia.
Dr Suresh Hanagwadi recently received the Padamshree award from the President, Madam Droupadi Murmu, for his exceptional services in the medical field.
CG Dr Suresh Hanagavadi, Pro Chancellor Dr Rajeev Tyagi and the VC Dr KK Dave inaugurated the event by lighting a lamp to Goddess Saraswati.
Finance Director CA Yuvraj Singh along with the Medical Dean Dr MH Prabhu joined them to unveil the felicitation function cum special lecture session of Dr Suresh Hanagavadi.
Later Pro-Chancellor Dr Rajeev Tyagi, along with the VC and Dean Medical, felicitated Dr Suresh Hanagavadi by gifting him a shawl, bouquet, and a memento.
The Venkateshwara Group Founder President Shri Sudhir Giri reiterated that though Dr Hanagavadi is himself hemophilic, he has been treating hemophilic patients for the last 4 decades and giving them a new lease of life. His life is a proof of sacrifice, dedication, struggle, and an inspiration for crores of Indians.
Dr Suresh Hanagavadi asserted that Factor Replacement therapy is a boon for 1 million hemophilic patients of the world. Dr Suresh Hanagavadi was the Chief Guest at the event.
He said that in his childhood his maternal uncle expired because of hemophilia, as there was no effective treatment for this disease. This incident scarred me and motivated Dr Suresh Hanagavadi to become a doctor. As my destiny was such that when I grew up, I too was diagnosed with hemophilia. This did not deter me, and I passed MBBS and MD with good grades and founded the Karnataka Hemophilia Society to save lakhs of people from this dreaded condition.
For the past 4 decades, I have been running an awareness campaign to apprise people about hemophilia and have been treating them free of cost to save their lives.
Pro-Chancellor Dr Rajeev Tyagi announced that Dr Suresh Hanagavadi, who is an inspiration for lakhs of Doctors, will now be part of Venkateshwara Advisory Board. This way, he will guide our medical students on the path of humanity and national service.
Those present included Dr Alok Kumar, Dr Garima Bhatnagar, Dr Kalim Khan, Dr Manish Kumar, Dr Faisal Khilani, Dr Shashidharan, Dr Shree Reddy Krishna, Dr Kamar Alam, and Dr Sachi Ahlawat.
Dr Veer Bhadr, Dr SP Vithal, Dr Naushad, Dr Shakib, Dr Selva Kumar, Dr Nipun, Dr Shilpi, Dr Pravilika, Dr Shruti, Dr Nilisha, Dr Aashi, Dr Abhinav, Dr Navneet Kumar and SS Baghel were all present.
