B pharma qualification

The B Pharma qualification is the new fad among youngsters because it trains on developing new drugs.

The world is recuperating from the ill effects of Corona as millions perished owing to the unavailability of medicines.

The B Pharma qualification imparts the skills to develop life-saving drugs because they are the life givers.

Any student can gain B Pharma qualification provided they have studied Science until class 12th.

Both PCM & PCB students are eligible because they study Physic & chemistry until class 12th. Candidates desirous of obtaining a B Pharma qualification should ensure the Pharmacy Council of India has recognized the college because it regulates the Pharmacy education in the country.

India is the Pharmacy of the world because we are the largest vaccine & generic drugs producers. In terms of volume, India ranks 3rd, while we rank 10th in terms of the value of medicines exported.

We expect the pharmaceutical industry in India to reach $65 bn by 2024 and to $130 bn by 2030

The current value of the pharmaceutical industry in India is $50 bn.

India the Pharmacy of the world

India is a major exporter of Pharmaceuticals, with over 200+ countries served by Indian pharma exports.

We supply over 50% of Africa’s requirement for generics, ~40% of generic demand in the US and ~25% of all medicine in the UK.

India also accounts for ~60% of global vaccine demand, and is a leading supplier of DPT, BCG and Measles vaccines.

The WHO sources 70% of its vaccines (as per the essential immunization schedule) from India. 

The Average Index of Industrial Production of Manufacturing of pharmaceuticals, medicinal chemicals and botanical products in the FY 2021-22 is 221.6 and has grown by 1.3%

For the period 2021-22, export of drugs and pharma products stood at $24.6 bn compared to $24.44 bn as of 2020-21. The Indian pharma industry witnessed an exponential growth of 103% during 2014-22 from $11.6 bn to $24.6 bn.

The current scenario has opened plenty of opportunities for Pharma professionals as pandemics, & wars cause immense loss of life. These underline having a B Pharma qualification because it is vital for human survival.

The ongoing Ukraine war has compounded the need for medicines, as warring nations are racing against time to cure the injured.

The Ukrainian Army felicitated an Indian businessman for supplying medicines as medicines provide instant relief to the injured.

B Pharma qualification & Duration

For 12th pass students, the B Pharma course completes in 4 years and comprises 8 semesters.  

For D Pharma (Diploma in Pharmacy) candidates, it takes 3 years to complete B Pharma through the lateral entry scheme.

The B Pharma qualification allows one to practice Pharmacy & lead a comfortable life because medicines are indispensable for life.

B Pharma eligibility

Candidate shall have passed 10+2 examination conducted by the respective state/central government authorities recognized as equivalent to 10+2 examination by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) with English as a subject and Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (P.C. M) and or Biology.
(P.C.B / P.C.M.B.) as optional subjects individually.

Any other qualification approved by the Pharmacy Council of India as equivalent to any of the above examinations.

B. Pharm lateral entry (to third semester): A pass in D. Pharm. Course from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India under section 12 of the Pharmacy.

B Pharmacy admission

The B Pharmacy admission process in UP starts after the Government releases the UPSEE (UPCET) notification in April 2023. Candidates should register for the UPCET 2023, whose expected application end date is July 2023.

Both Government & unaided institutions admit candidates based on their UPCET score because it’s valid criteria for selection.

Many institutes directly admit candidates based on their score in the 12th board exams.

Students should score well in their 12th board exams because it’s a criterion for admission in many Pharmacy colleges. There is a mad rush for a B Pharma qualification because it’s a job oriented course with good earning potential.

The B Pharma course fosters self-employment because they work as retailers or wholesalers, depending on their choice.

Many MNCs are setting shop in the country because India offers a vast market with a burgeoning middle class.

The B Pharma qualification trains about researching, developing & dispensing drugs that give a new life to the patients.

Just imagine, had the Pharmacists not discovered the Corona vaccine, millions more would have succumbed to the virus.

The Medical practitioners welcome the Pharmacists because they introduce new drugs that provide instant relief.

Constant R & D that leads to new product development is the norm in any industry & Pharmacy is no different.

The B Pharma qualification nurtures researcher who develop new medicines that save mankind from various viruses and diseases.

B Pharma Government College Fees

Most Government colleges have fewer fees because the Government pays subsidy to these colleges.

For admission in Government colleges, students should score well in the entrance exams because there is intense competition for these colleges.

Besides candidates belonging to the reserved category get further fees rebate because the Government wants to uplift these sections of the society.

B Pharma fees in Private Colleges

The average B Pharma Fees range between INR 65,000 to INR 3, 20,000.

B Pharma fees are comparatively higher in private colleges than in government colleges. 

Students desirous of acquiring the B Pharma qualification should note that the B Pharma course is their stepping stone for an illustrious career in the healthcare sector.

The healthcare sector is recession proof as people desire to have a healthy and long life. With the availability of better medicines, the quality of life has improved as we can avail OTC medicines from the community pharmacists.

After a B Pharma, candidates can pursue higher qualification like M Pharma, and take up teaching roles in Colleges.

There is an immense demand for Pharmacist the world over because they are vital for the health & wellbeing of the society.

People acknowledged the role of Pharmacists when they dispensed lifesaving medicines during the lockdown.

B Pharmacy Salary:

The average salary of B Pharmacy graduates ranges between INR 4–6 L. After a few years of experience, they can draw a salary of INR 10 L increasing further with more skills they gain.

There are plenty of jobs both in the Government & private sector because the health sector is rapidly evolving.

The super speciality hospitals opening in cities have spiked the demand for pharmacists because they disburse life-saving drugs.
