Senor Media consultant Dr D J Pati & Aaj Tak’s renowned Anchor Sashi Tushar Sharma were the Chief Guest & keynote speakers at the event.

Dr DJ Pati, while addressing the students & staff, elaborated that social media is gaining popularity because of its faster speed of propagation.

But it lacks editorial command because of which it has become the biggest platform of fake news that is threatening the social harmony and national integrity of the country.

Moreover, they appealed to the government to monitor & curb all those media channels that are working without an editorial control.

For their personal, political/religious interests, people are misusing social media platforms with varying degrees. The public should be careful about such social media channels and the Government should monitor & curb their misuse.

Sashi Tushar Sharma asserted there are over 75 crore internet users in the country, because of which the reach of social media is phenomenal, but in terms of credibility, Print media comes first, followed by the electronic media.

Because news is fact checked a dozen times before it gets published/propagated on print & electronic channels.
