World Pharmacists Day 2025

Shri Venkateshwara University and VGI Meerut celebrated World Pharmacists Day 2025 by organizing a seminar titled “Think Health – Think Pharmacist,” along with a poster-model exhibition, a street play, and a health awareness rally.

Students emphasized pharmacists’ roles. They organized a health awareness rally and street play. The goal was to promote Healthy India–Ayushman India.

Experts from Meerut, Moradabad, Delhi, Gurgaon and other places took part in the event.

Moreover, over a dozen Pharma professionals emphasized the significance of pharmacists and elaborated upon the various job opportunities available for them.

Former VC of Rajasthan University, Prof. S R Malu, Head of Monark Scientific Nishant Singh, Pro Chancellor Dr Rajeev Tyagi, Seemant Saxena from Glaxo India and the Amroha drug inspector, Mrs. Ruchi Bansal inaugurated the event by lighting a lamp to Goddess Saraswati.

The Chief Pharmacist Pradeep Kumar Das, VC Dr KK Dave, Pharmacy Dean Dr Om Prakash Gosai, Dr Ashwin Saxena, and Dr Darpan Kaushik joined them to unveil the events marking World Pharmacists Day 2025.

The Venkateshwara Group Founder President Dr Sudhir Giri reiterated that pharmacists have played an important role in ensuring schemes like Healthy India- Ayushman India reach the common man.

Shri Venkateshwara University observed World Pharmacists Day 2025 by hosting many events.

Dr. Rajeev Tyagi, the Pro Chancellor, stated that pharmacists played a crucial role alongside doctors in managing public health services and tackling the Corona pandemic, particularly in treatment, care, and global vaccination efforts to eliminate the virus.

Moreover, pharmacists have played a formidable role in the global expansion of health services and in providing quality medical services.

Senior genetic scientist Prof SR Malu affirmed that the role of a qualified pharmacist is no less than that of a doctor in providing safe and effective treatment to patients.

In her keynote speech, Chief Guest Mrs. Ruchi Bansal emphasized that pharmacy plays a crucial role in providing effective treatment and healthcare services. Globally, over 50 lakh people are directly associated with Pharmacy while indirectly it employs over 6 crore people.

Pharmacy not only provides lakhs of job opportunities in the government, semi-government and private sector it offers plenty of self-employment opportunities as well. Being directly associated with medical and public health services, the Pharma industry is one of the fastest-growing industries in the world.

Those present included Mr. Pradeep Kumar Das, Chief Pharmacist of District Hospital, Prof Anjali Bhardwaj, Dr Dheeraj Dubey, Dr Aditya Sharma, Manju Rani, Pankaj Gill, Ravi Saini, Renu, Gurjeet Singh and Dr Ashwini Saxena.

Dr Shilpi Sharma, Dr Amit Kumar, Dr Furkan, and Abhishek Suman were all present. The Meerut Campus Director, Dr Pratap Singh, was present along with the Media Incharge, Mr. Vishwas Rana, among others.
