World Breastfeeding Week 2025
The VIMS Multispecialty Hospital, part of Shri Venkateshwara University, celebrated World Breastfeeding Week 2025 (August 1–7) with enthusiasm.
During the week-long Breast-Feeding Week, senior doctors, medical/nursing professionals and medical students highlighted the significance of mother’s milk to the new mothers and the masses.
They organized quiz competitions, street plays, poster making, debates and over a dozen events to educate the masses on the significance of breastfeeding for the newborn child.
The Pro Chancellor Dr Rajeev Tyagi, and the VC, Dr KK Dave, felicitated the competition winners by gifting them mementos.
The Venkateshwara Group Founder President Dr Sudhir Giri, Pro Chancellor Dr Rajeev Tyagi & the VC Dr KK Dave inaugurated the event by lighting a lamp to Goddess Saraswati.
The CMS Dr Suresh G Mehta and the Pediatrics HOD Dr Rajesh Bansal joined them to unveil the closing ceremony of the World Breast-Feeding Week 2025.

The Pro Chancellor Dr Rajeev Tyagi, affirmed that, according to medical research, mother’s milk is like nectar for the newborn. Mother’s milk provides 4 times more immunity than packaged milk.
The Pediatrics HOD, Dr Rajesh Bansal, informed that mother’s milk not only bolsters the child’s immunity but also makes the child mentally and emotionally strong.

Senior pediatrician Dr Shweta asserted that mother’s milk contains calcium, vitamins, minerals and other nutrients that protect against cancer and various other diseases.
Those present included senior orthopedic surgeon Dr Najmul Huda, Gynae HOD Dr Rehana Huda, Dr BN Singh, Dr Shweta Singh, Dr Ajay Parwardhan, Dr Shehzad, Dr Waris Bilal, Dr Rufida, Dr Ankita and Dr Rishabh Batra.
