National Girl child day
Shri Venkateshwara University/VGI felicitated 25 female students & educationists for doing exceptional work in different fields on the occasion of the National Girl child day.
SVU honored them with a memento & prize as part of the Beti Bachao beti padhao campaign marking the National Girl child day.
The Group Chairman Dr Sudhir Giri, Pro Chancellor Dr Rajiv Tyagi, CEO Ajay Shrivastava, and the VC Dr Rakesh Yadav inaugurated the Mother power felicitation ceremony by lighting a lamp & offering flowers to Goddess Saraswati.
The Group Chairman, Dr Sudhir Giri, in his address reiterated the girls are outclassing boys in education, sports, literature, medical services, nursing & nation service & the world admires their efforts.
But the irony is that in India where people revere girls as Goddess Durga, is having the highest female infanticide in Asia.
This is the collective responsibility of every citizen to awaken people about this evil practice and cease it completely.
The Pro chancellor, Dr Rajiv Tyagi, stated that the Venkateshwara Group is proud of felicitating the mother’s power.
Further, he pledged the students & staff for the Beti Bachao beti padhao campaign & exhorted them to contribute towards women’s empowerment.
The CEO Mr Ajay Shrivastava, VC Dr Rakesh Yadav, Joint Registrar Dr Rajesh Singh & Dr Ana Brown also addressed the event marking the National Girl child day.
Those felicitated included Shilpi Kashyap, Sarita Rajput, Pooja Aeri, Pratibha, Reena Negi, Neema Bisht, Neha, Pooja Kumar, Pooja Sijwali, & Vaishali among the noticeable ones.
Further, those present on the occasion included the Meerut Campus Director Dr Pratap Singh, Alka Singh, Brajpal Singh, Deepak Kumar, Kuldeep, Dr S N Sahu, Arun Goswami & Dr Vivek Sachan.
