Melanin Symposium

The dermatology department of VIMS (Venkateshwara Institute of Medical Sciences) under the aegis of Shri Venkateshwara University hosted a 1 day Melanin Symposium on unraveling mysteries of pigmentation.

122 dermatologists, including experts from Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, and other locations, took part in the Melanin Symposium.

They engaged in discussions on different skin problems that arise because of melanin abnormality.

Moreover, they dwelled on ways to diagnose skin diseases and their effective treatment. 

The Venkateshwara Group Founder President Dr Sudhir Giri, Pro Chancellor Dr Rajeev Tyagi, Dean Medical Dr Atul Verma & the HOD Dermatology Dr Pragya Kushwaha inaugurated the event by lighting a lamp to Goddess Sarasvati.

The Workshop coordinator Dr Rohan Tyagi, Dr Arvind Krishna, & Dr AB David joined them to unveil the dermatology medical workshop.

The Venkateshwara Group Founder President Dr Sudhir Giri emphasized that we have equipped VIMS dermatology department with advanced laser treatments like active AFX, ultra-therapy & all the latest treatment facilities. We plan to develop it into a Centre of Excellence.

Dr AB David from Hyderabad asserted Melanin is a pigment that provides a natural color to our skin. Its abnormality leads to serious conditions like Vitiligo, Albinism, & melasma.

If not diagnosed & treated in time may lead to dangerous consequences like skin damage, squint and vision defects.

Dr Arvind Krishna, renowned dermatologist from Delhi, asserted skin cells may get damaged if we do not treat melanin abnormality on time. It may cause squint & patient may also lose eyesight.

Moreover, the Pro Chancellor Dr Rajeev Tyagi affirmed VIMS offers all the world class skin treatments like unwanted hair removal, hair transplantation, burn therapy, cosmetic surgery & all laser therapies.

Dr Akansha Astik, Dr Deeksha Agarwal, Dr Rohan Tyagi, Dr Amarjeet Verma, Dr Sachin Agarwal, Dr Juhi Kaithwas, Dr Pragya Kushwaha & Dr Anurag Pradhan also addressed the workshop.

Those present included the Medical Superintendent Dr IB Raju, Academic Dean Dr Sanjeev Bhatt, & Dr Sachi Ahlawat.

The Meerut Campus Director, Dr Pratap Singh, was present along with the Media Incharge, Mr. Vishwas Rana, among others.
