In honour of International Nurses Day, Shri Venkateshwara University School of Nursing organized a felicitation and oath-taking ceremony for nurses.

We applauded the role of the Nurses for providing selfless service & honored them for doing exemplary work of caring the patients.

SVU held an international seminar to discuss the Role of Nursing professionals in increasing awareness of transgender rights and health.

The Group Chairman, Dr Sudhir Giri, Pro chancellor Dr Rajiv Tyagi, CEO Mr. Ajay Shrivastava, & the Chief Guest Dr Shalini Singh from the Ministry of Social Justice, inaugurated the events by offering flowers on the portrait of F. Nightingale & Goddess Saraswati.

The Nursing Principal Dr Ana Brown assisted them in inaugurating the International Nurses day event.

Moreover, on the birthday of Florence Nightingale, over 400 nursing students pledged for dedicated medical service” by lighting a candle.

Further, we honoured over 250 nurses of the Venkateshwara Institute of Medical Sciences (VIMS) by gifting them a shawl & memento.

The Group Chairman Dr Sudhir Giri, called nursing the most pious profession. He said Nurses provide selfless service & their contribution to the medical services is equivalent to those of Doctors.

Dr Shalini Singh informed that under the Right to Equality & Protection of Rights 2016, the transgender community has equal rights & protection as any other male and female citizen.

The Pro chancellor, Dr Rajiv Tyagi, asserted that there are plenty of national & international job opportunities for Nurses.

Finally, Dr Ena Goyal Department of Anthropology Chinese University of Hong Kong stressed the role of nurses is crucial in ensuring health, social security & rehabilitation of the transgenders.

Besides, Dr Rajesh from Delhi University, & Dr Ana Brown, also addressed the International seminar that dwelled for protecting the transgender rights.

Further, those present included the VC Dr Rajesh Yadav, Registrar Dr Piyush Pandey, Dean Medical Dr Sanjiv Bhatt, MS Dr I B Raju, Nursing Head Ms. Poline, S Baghel, Arun Goswami, & Mr. Maroof Chaudhary.

Noticeable with their presence was the Meerut Campus Director Dr Pratap Singh, Akhil Nair, Neetushree Pal, Pooja Ari, Neema, Pratibha & the Media In charge Mr. Vishwas Rana among others.

Moreover, Anusha & Sumandeep Kaur of the School of Nursing conducted the program well.
