The Venkateshwara Group of Institutions hosted a friendly cricket tournament 2024 at its campus.
Total 5 teams took part in the tournament. Students of the education department, B.Pharma, D Pharma, Polytechnic & Btech, took part in the cricketing tournament.
The Group Chairman Dr Sudhir Giri, Pro Chancellor Dr Rajeev Tyagi & the Campus Director Dr Pratap Singh inaugurated the event by cutting a ribbon & having a formal introduction with players.
The Group Chairman Dr Sudhir Giri reiterated, sports make a person strong, confident & competent. They not only foster mental & physical development but also play a major role in developing a strong moral character.
The Pro Chancellor Dr Rajeev Tyagi asserted Indian sports persons are realizing their sports passion by dedicating themselves to games.
Through their focus, hard work, dedication and determination, they have earned a respectable place in society.
Further, I advise all students to spare some time for sports every day.
Moreover, the Campus Director, Dr Pratap Singh, affirmed players who have a passion for sports, team spirit and who support other players are in fact good sports persons.
In the opening match of the tournament between D Pharma & Btech teams, D Pharma won the toss, elected to bat & scored 170 runs. The Btech team won the match by 4 wickets.
Moreover, B.Pharma & BCA teams played the second match, wherein B Pharma won the match.
Finally, the final match of the friendly cricket tournament, 2024, was played between B.Pharma & Polytechnic teams. B Pharma team batted first & scored 179 runs. The Btech team won the match with 8 wickets.
For his exemplary performance, the college management honoured player Atul Kumar with the Player of the series award.
Further, the college management felicitated the winning team players by gifting them medals & trophy.
Principals Dr. Sanjay Tiwari and Dr. Nitin Raj Verma, along with Brajpal Singh, Deepak Kumar, Coordinator Abhinav Rana, Umpire Rohit Kaushik, Pradeep Sharma, Vinay, Gaurav Kumar, Arun Kumar, Rohit, Ravi, and the Media Incharge Mr. Vishwas Rana, all played a commendable part in organizing the event.
