Shri Venkateshwara University celebrated Navratri with a Dandia event.
Shri Venkateshwara University/Institute hosted Navratri Dandia and Garbha Celebration 2025 as part of the Navratri celebrations.
The Pro-chancellor, Dr Rajeev Tyagi, VC Prof. KK Dave, Registrar Prof. Piyush Pandey and the Chief Priest Pt. Ramniwas Shastri inaugurated the event by performing Arti and lighting a lamp to Goddess Durga and Saraswati.
After this, the students and staff performed Dandia and Garbha dance on popular folk and Bollywood songs that made the event memorable.
The Venkateshwara Group Founder President Dr Sudhir Giri reiterated that during Navratri, Dandia is not just a dance but a symbol of women’s empowerment when Goddess Durga defeated demon Mahishasur in the war.
Moreover, Dr Sudhir Giri extended his warm wishes to the countrymen on the occasion of Navratri and Dusshera and called Navratri a religious and cultural function. For centuries, women have been respected and revered in India and will remain revered forever.
The Pro Chancellor Dr Rajeev Tyagi, asserted that Dandia dance marks the win of good over evil. For centuries, it’s the symbol of women’s empowerment, respect and sacredness.
Later, the staff and students of the University wore traditional Garbha dresses and performed Garbha on popular film songs that made the event memorable.
The VC Prof. KK Dave and the Registrar Prof. Piyush Kumar Pandey also addressed the Navratri Dandia and Garbha Celebration 2025.
Those present included the Academic Dean Dr Rajesh Singh, Dr Neetu Panwar, Dr Suman Kumari, Dr Ana Erik Brown, Dr Manjari Rana, Dr Yogeshwar Sharma, Dr Ashwin Saxena, Dr Om Prakash and Dr Darpan Kaushik.
Moreover, Dr Rajwardhan, Dr Reena Joshi, Dr SK Shrivastava, Dr Ashutosh, Legal Director Dev Pratap Singh, Dr Mohit Sharma, SS Baghel, Nagendra Pratap Singh and Pritpal were all present. The Meerut Campus Director, Dr Pratap Singh, was present along with the Media Incharge, Mr. Vishwas Rana, among others.
