Shri Venkateshwara University launched the Child Marriage Free Bharat Campaign to raise awareness against child marriage.
Shri Venkateshwara University inaugurated the Child Marriage Free Bharat Campaign with full fanfare and fervor.
Under the joint initiative of the Ministry of Women and Child Development (WCD) and the UP Government, a 100 days campaign will be held against child marriages in the country.
Under this, we made 150 meritorious students brand ambassadors of the Child Marriage Free Bharat Campaign.
These national/state/divisional level toppers from Meerut, Moradabad and other regions will launch the Child Marriage Free Bharat Campaign in their respective regions.
Pro-Chancellor Dr Rajeev Tyagi, Madam Mamta Dubey, Manager, WCD department, senior consultant Karunanidhi and Dr Yatindra Kataria inaugurated the seminar and oath ceremony held to spread awareness against Child Marriage.
We made the students take an oath against child marriage and flagged off the Campaign to spread awareness against child marriages.
We also gifted students with an education kit and pen and gave a memorandum to the honourable President of India.
The Venkateshwara Group Founder President Dr Sudhir Giri reiterated that children, especially girls, are the backbone of a developed nation. Instead of indulging in child labour and household chores, girls should have school bags and hockey sticks in their hands.
Pro-Chancellor Dr Rajeev Tyagi asserted that child marriage is not only an evil practice but also a national shame. Let’s all come together to erase this evil practice from our society. By spreading awareness against child marriage, we can make poor, exploited and underprivileged children join the mainstream of development.
Those present included the VC, Dr KK Dave, Registrar, Dr Piyush Pandey, PRO, Dr Shri Ram Gupta, Karunanidhi, Mamta Dubey, Arun Goswami, and Tanishq Tyagi.
Moreover, the Meerut Campus Director, Dr Pratap Singh, was present along with the Media Incharge, Mr. Vishwas Rana, among others.
