JEECUP Entrance Exam 2026:

The Joint Entrance Examination Council Uttar Pradesh (JEECUP) will conduct the JEECUP Entrance Exam 2026 from May 15–22, 2026.

This JEECUP entrance exam, also known as the JEE (Polytechnic) will be a computer-based test (CBT) for short-listing candidates for the various diploma and DPharma courses in UP.

Online registration for the JEECUP Entrance Exam 2026 has already started on January 15, and the last date is April 30, 2026.

From April 26–April 30, 2026, candidates can make corrections in their already filled registration forms. The JEE (Polytechnic) admit cards will be available for download from May 08, 2026.

The authorities will declare JEECUP 2026/JEE (Polytechnic) results on May 30, 2026.

Moreover, complete details about counselling will be available on the website https://jeecup.admissions.nic.in from June 01, 2026. The last date for admitting candidates through all rounds of counselling is July 31, 2026.

All the above announced dates are tentative and may change. Therefore, candidates should keep checking the council website https://jeecup.admissions.nic.in for any changes in dates.

Candidates can apply for any exam in groups A, B, C, D, E1, E2, F, G, H, I, K1-K8, and L. However, along with Group A, Group E candidates can only apply in one group out of Group (B, C, D, F, G, H, I, K1- K8, L). A candidate can make a maximum of 3 applications only.

Application Fee

General/OBC – INR 300 per application.

SC/ST               INR 200 per application.

Candidates can pay the application fee online through Net Banking/Debit/Credit Card and UPI. We have not included in the application fee any service charges levied by the bank/service provider .

2. Moreover, candidates taking their qualifying exam in 2026 can also apply for JEE (Polytechnic). If shortlisted, they must present proof of passing the qualifying exam (mark sheet/certificate) during counseling.

 3 Candidates taking the JEE (Polytechnic) 2026, will be bound by the rules and regulations set by the council, as well as any changes made by the council or the state government in due time.

Moreover, all information in the information booklet is for informational purposes only. Its use for any work other than the prescribed work will not be valid. In the case of any disputes, only the courts in the Lucknow region will be valid. The decision of the Examination Council is final, and all applicants must accept it.

4. False Information: If the candidate provides incorrect information, then the council will be automatically cancel his/her application/admission .

Incomplete Admission: If the candidate fails to complete all admission requirements (because of missing results, mark sheets, or certificates) within the stipulated deadline, then their selection will be automatically cancelled.

No Liability: The Council/Institute is not responsible if a candidate’s admission is cancelled because of incomplete paperwork.

No Carry-Over: You cannot use this year’s selection to claim admission in a future year. This selection process is for admissions in the current academic year.

JEECUP 2026 Courses Offered

7 Courses Offered: Around 80 courses are available in the first and second shifts of 147 government, 18 aided, 29 PPP, and 2262 private polytechnic institutions in Uttar Pradesh.

8. Age Limit: As of July 1, 2026, the candidate should not be less than 14 years of age, meaning they should be born on or before July 1, 2012.

The minimum age for admission to Group I courses on 01/07/2026 should be 16 years.

9. Exam Centers: A candidate can select four exam districts in order of preference. Exam centers for all course groups will be in major cities.

10. Exam Mode: The council will conduct a Computer Based Test (CBT) for groups A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, K, and L.

11. Exam Pattern: The entrance exam will have multiple-choice questions (objective type). For each correct answer, the candidate gets 4 marks. There is no negative marking for wrong answers.

12. Reservation: For candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC): we have reserved 21% of the total seats.

For candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes (ST): 2% of the total seats are reserved.

For candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes (OBC): 27% of the total seats are reserved.

Economically Weaker Sections (EWS): 10% of seats are reserved.

A maximum of 5% of seats are reserved for physically handicapped candidates.

 A maximum of 2% of seats are reserved for dependents of freedom fighters.

· A maximum of 5% of seats are reserved for sons/daughters of retired or disabled defense personnel or those killed in action.◦

· A maximum of 20% of the seats are reserved for female candidates.

JEECUP Entrance Exam 2026 Syllabus & Eligibility for various Groups

The JEECUP Entrance Exam 2026 syllabus varies depending on the course group. Please find the entrance exam syllabus for various groups. Please find information about the subjects and percentage of questions for each group.

Group A: Diploma in Engineering/Technology courses      

Mathematics: 50%, Physics and Chemistry: 50%. The candidate must have passed the 10th class with a minimum of 35% marks.

Group B: Agriculture Engineering:

Mathematics: 50%, Physics, Chemistry, and Agriculture: 50%.

The candidate should have passed 10th class in agriculture as a subject with a minimum of 35% marks. (If the candidate has not passed the high school examination with agriculture subject but has passed the intermediate examination with agriculture subject, then also the candidate will be eligible for the group)

Group C: Fashion Designing and Garment Technology, Home Science, Textile Design, and Textile Design (Printing):◦

English & Hindi Comprehension: 20%
Reasoning & Intelligence: 50%
General Awareness: 30%◦

The candidate should have passed the 10th class with a minimum of 35% marks. 

Group D: Modern Office Management & Secretarial Practice, Library & Information Science:◦

English & Hindi Comprehension: 30%
Reasoning & Intelligence: 35%
Numerical Ability: 10%
General Awareness: 25% 

For Modern Office Management & Secretarial Practice, the candidate should have passed Intermediate or equivalent with Hindi and English subjects.

For Library & Information Science, the candidate should have passed 10+2/Intermediate exam. 

DPharma

Group E: Diploma in Pharmacy (D Pharma): Course Duration: 2 years

Physics & Chemistry: 50%
Biology or Mathematics: 50%

The candidate should have passed the Intermediate (10+2) examination with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects and Mathematics/Biology (Botany and Zoology). 

Group F: Post-Graduate Diploma in Biotechnology (Tissue Culture): Course Duration: 1 year

Chemistry: 50%, Zoology: 25%, Botany: 25%

The candidate should have a B.Sc. with Biology, Chemistry/Biochemistry subjects.

Group G
: PG Diploma in Computer Application, PG Diploma in Marketing & Sales Management, PG Diploma in Customer Service Management, PG Diploma in Beauty & Health care, PG Diploma in Tourism & Travel Management, PG Diploma in Advertising & Public Relations, PG Diploma in Textile Design, PG Diploma in Fashion Technology, PG Diploma in Mass Communication, PG Diploma in Computer Hardware & Networking, PG Diploma in Web Designing, PG Diploma in Accountancy (with Computerized Account and Taxation), PG Diploma in Retail Management, PG Diploma in Cyber Security, PG Diploma in Internet of Things, PG Diploma in Data Science & Machine Learning, PG Diploma in Drone Technology:

The candidate should have passed the 12th class with a minimum of 35% marks.

Group I: 1. Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME), 2. Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (Avionics), AME (Helicopter and Power plants) all are of 3 years duration.
Physics & Chemistry: 50%
Mathematics: 50%◦

The candidate should have passed 10+2/Intermediate with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects or equivalent and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics. 

Lateral Entry

Group K: Diploma Engineering (Lateral Entry): 

Mathematics, physics, and chemistry at High-School Level: 40%
Engineering: 60% 

The candidate should have passed Intermediate Science or Intermediate Science/Vocational/Technical subjects or 10th pass with a two-year ITI with the appropriate specialization. 

Group L: Post Diploma in Industrial Safety:

Physics: 20% and Chemistry: 20% at High School Level
General Engineering and Safety: 20% 

The candidate should have a diploma in engineering with 02 years of experience, or a B.Sc. with Physics or Chemistry with 02 years’ experience, or a BE/B. Tech or equivalent with 02 years’ experience.

JEECUP 2026 Complete Process 

The detailed process for the UP Joint Entrance Examination (Polytechnic) 2026 involves several stages, from application to seat allotment. Here’s a breakdown: 

Online Application

 The application process is entirely online. The online application period is from January 15, 2026, to April 30, 2026. JEECUP is providing 105 days for the application process.

1. Visit the website https://jeecup.admissions.nic.in to fill out the application form. All applicants require a working mobile number and email ID for registration and communication. Ensure their continuity until the counseling process is complete. 

2. Upload necessary documents and pay the application fee online. 

Application Fee: 

General/Other Backward Class: Rs. 300 per application. 

Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe: Rs. 200 per application. 

Corrections: From April 26–April 30, 2026, candidates can make corrections in their already filled registration forms. Stay updated via the website and newspapers for related instructions. 

Admit Card

While downloading the admit card, the candidate will have to enter his/her Aadhar number on the portal https://jeecup.admissions.nic.in  to be able to download the admit card.

Entrance Exam Pattern

The exam will be conducted from May 15–May 22, 2026, through through (CBT) mode for groups A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, K, and L14. The exam duration is 2 hours and 30 minutes. 

Exam Pattern 

The exam consists of multiple-choice questions.

Each correct answer carries 4 marks, and there is no negative marking for incorrect answers. The online CBT paper will be available in both Hindi and English. Each question paper will comprise 100 questions. Candidates will have the facility to mark tough questions, which they can solve later in the exam.

The Council will make mock test facility available 2 days prior to the exam date on the portal so that candidates can get a feel of the exam.

Exam Centers: Candidates can choose four exam districts in order of preference. 

Objections to Answer Key: After the exam, candidates can raise objections regarding the answer key or chosen options through the portal. A fee of Rs. 100 per objection is applicable, which will be refunded if the objection is valid.

Evaluation and Result

The objective question paper has 4 options for each question, with 4 marks awarded for each correct answer. If a question is found to be incorrect or has two correct options, all candidates who attempted it will be awarded full marks. 

Normalization: If the entrance exam is conducted in multiple shifts, a normalization process will be applied to calculate the final marks. 

Minimum Qualifying Marks: To be eligible for admission to polytechnics, candidates must obtain the minimum qualifying marks determined by the council. 

Merit List: The council will prepare a merit list based on the normalized marks obtained in the entrance exam. The results will be available on the council’s website https://jeecup.admissions.nic.in

Counseling & Seat Allotment

Details regarding the counseling process will be available after the results are declared. Candidates must register on the portal using their login ID and password to take part in counseling. 

Choice Filling: Candidates must select and lock their preferred choices of institutions and courses on the portal. 

Allotment: Council will allot seats through a computerized system (NIC) based on merit and the choices filled by the candidates. The counseling process is divided into two parts: main counseling and special counseling. 

Main counseling is for candidates from Uttar Pradesh or those who have passed the qualifying exam from Uttar Pradesh. Special Counseling includes candidates from other states. 

After seat allotment, candidates must pay a seat acceptance fee online. 

Reservation Policy: Reservations are applicable as per the latest government orders. Various categories such as SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and others have reserved seats.

Candidates must present all required documents, including relevant certificates for reserved categories, during counseling.
