Difference between B.Ed and B.El.Ed

The fundamental difference between B.Ed & B.El.Ed is that the former prepares you for a TGT role (higher classes) while the latter is for a primary teaching role.

We do Bachelor of education (B.Ed) after graduation while candidates pursue a Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) after class 12th. B.Ed is a 2 year course while B.El.Ed is of 4 years’ duration.

Both the courses offer many job opportunities because both cater to specific segments.

As we do B.Ed after graduation, we call them Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT) while those with a B.El.Ed are designated as Primary teachers.

People with a B.El.Ed teach in Primary or upper primary classes because they are specialists of early education.

While a B.Ed teaches higher classes like 9th & 10th, post graduates teaching secondary & senior secondary classes are Post Graduate Teachers (PGT).

This confuses many candidates whether to pursue B.ed or B.El.Ed because they are unaware of the specifics of the course.

They should note that Primary classes are the building blocks for a smooth academic journey because Primary teachers nurture student’s base in early classes.

Primary teachers are handy because they create an interest in the topic through TLMs & charts that children admire a lot.

For primary classes, schools hire people with a B.El.Ed degree because they are vital for early learning.

B.El.Ed is highly job oriented because schools hire them as Special education teachers for teaching children with learning disabilities. After a B.El.Ed they can pursue B.Ed and start teaching higher classes.

Difference between B.Ed and B.El.Ed in teaching roles

B.Ed opens the door for a satisfying career because schools prefer a B.Ed for teaching roles. A B.Ed enables one to seek teaching jobs anywhere in the country because teachers are indispensable for learning.

Indians are thronging almost every country of the world because their enterprising nature enables them to survive in distant places.

Indian techies are being welcomed abroad because these high earning professionals fasten economic development.

There is a huge requirement of Indian teachers in Arabian countries owing to the large Indian diaspora working in these countries.

For teachers, a B.ed is the most sought after qualification because many schools in Arabian countries follow the CBSE board.

Teaching is the most stable profession because parents strive to offer quality education to their wards. They invest their hard earned money to ensure their children gain the best education.

This desire supports the mushrooming of schools & colleges that are an epitome of learning. These institutions require teachers who impart learning because the faulty plays a crucial role in fostering learning.

All aspiring teachers should pursue B.ed from a good college because it ensures a successful teaching career.

Choose your B.Ed college with precision

While short-listing the college, ensure it has well ventilated classrooms fitted with digital aids because learning happens in a calm & serene setting.

The time spent in college is vital because students learn through discussion & debate.

Ensure the college has a computer center where students hone ICT skills because schools prefer tech savvy candidates. They should have a demo room where candidates refine their demonstration because effectively presenting the topic is vital for teachers.

Choose a college that arranges internship because practical skills are vital for the job. Internships foster hands-on skills because they bridge the gap between theory & practice vital for placement.

Students get to work in a proper setting, which exposes them to the nuances of teaching.

Internships are important because they boost confidence & make teacher’s job ready from day one.

Talk to the faculty of your college because their experience is vital for nurturing quality teachers. They should have years of experience because it will foster competent teachers.

They should impart key functionalities because this is vital for nurturing outstanding teachers.

Last but not the least, the college should involve students in extra-curriculum activities because they foster team spirit & soft skills vital nowadays.

Teachers will work in teams & time again shoulder additional responsibility because the Management promotes teachers who take initiative.

Please ensure the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) has recognized your college as it regulates teacher education in the country.
