B pharmacy admission process

The Uttar Pradesh B pharmacy admission process starts by registering for the UPCET (UPSEE) 2023, which shortlists candidates for the B Pharma course.

Both the private & government colleges admit candidates based on their UPCET score. 

Candidates should check the digital & print media for updates about the UP B Pharmacy admission process because being updated is good for the candidates. 

The notification for UPCET (Uttar Pradesh Common Entrance Test) will be out in April 2023 & the expected application end date is July 2023.

Candidates can correct their forms in July 2023 & the tentative admit card availability date is Aug 2023. 

The tentative UPCET (UPSEE) 2023 entrance exam date is Sept 2023 & the board will declare the results in Oct.

The UPCET (UPSEE) counselling will begin in Nov 2023. 

Apart from this, many colleges directly admit candidates based on their marks in the qualifying examination, further streamlining the B pharmacy admission process.

This is a good for candidates who cannot score well on the UPCET because a Pharmacy aspirant has many options for pursuing the course. 

All candidates are right now busy with their 12th board preparations because they start from February 15th and conclude on April 5th. The qualifying examinations are crucial because institutes value its score for admission in B Pharmacy.

The b pharmacy admission process in government colleges of UP is as per the marks earned in the UPCET 2023 examination because they shortlist candidates based on their rank in the UPCET.

Apart from the mentioned above, there are many Private B Pharmacy colleges in UP who directly admit candidates or shortlists based on their UPCET (UPSEE) score. 

Further, the number of seats in Government colleges is limited, leading to stiff competition among the aspirants.

Only those with a higher rank can gain admission in Government colleges, while the rest can explore self financing institutions which Pharmacy Council of India has recognized. 

b Pharma fees in private college 

The average B Pharma fees in private colleges is INR 60000 to 120000 for the first year and then reduces based on the scholarship earned by the candidate.

The fees in government college is subsidized because those scoring high in the UPCET get Government colleges while others can take admission in private colleges. 

Private institutions offer good infrastructure comprising labs & workshops that foster experiential learning because practical skills are vital for placement. 

Candidates should ensure that the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) recognizes the college because it regulates the pharmacy education in the country. They can check the PCI website for the list of recognized colleges.

B Pharmacy Course details

Before completing the B Pharmacy admission process, candidates should know the B Pharmacy course details because it offers them plenty of opportunities.

The B pharmacy course is of 4 years comprising 8 semesters & all 12th pass Science students can pursue it whether they are from PCB or PCM streams.

They should have studied chemistry as a compulsory subject in class 12th.

Every year, over 2 lakh candidates pass out from the various pharmacy colleges, reiterating the significance of this course.

Further, the 4 years duration B Pharma course allows many specializations for the candidates to choose from.

· Pharmaceutical Chemistry: In pharmaceutical chemistry, students learn about drug design, testing, and development, as well as how to take a treatment or drug safely. Students also learn about biology, engineering, and technology principles that they apply to develop new procedures and processes.

· Pharmaceutics: The study of themes linked to pharmacies, such as biomedical analyses, pharmacokinetics, pharmacology, and pharmacodynamics, come under pharmaceutics.

The topic deals with the development, design, distribution, and use of medications for disease prevention and relief.

· Pharmacology: It is the study of pharmacological reactions based on biological principles. It entails the investigation of medications’ biological effects, chemical properties, and therapeutic applications.

The various subjects included in the 4 years duration B Pharma course are:

Pharmaceutical Analysis, remedial mathematical biology, Pharmacognosy, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Computer Applications, Pharmaceutics, Mathematics, Anatomy & Pharmaceutical Microbiology.

Further Pathophysiology of Common diseases, Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Jurisprudence & ethics, Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Industrial Management, etc.

B Pharma eligibility

First year B. Pharm: Candidate shall have passed 10+2 examination conducted by the respective state/central government authorities recognized as equivalent to 10+2 examination by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) with English as a subject and Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (P.C.M) and or Biology. (P.C.B / P.C.M.B.) as optional subjects individually.

Any other qualification approved by the Pharmacy Council of India as equivalent to any of the above examinations.

B. Pharm lateral entry (to third semester): A pass in D. Pharm. Course from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India under section 12 of the Pharmacy.

The B Pharmacy admission process in UP starts after the UPCET (UPSEE) 2023 forms get released in April 2023.

B Pharma admission process near Meerut UP
